Have had an awesome litter of puppies.  We currently have 2 males available.  Tai and Kwon.  Kwon is huge and Tai is a sweetheart who has already demonstrated the ability to alert to seizures.

Both parents are working service dogs, and simply great pedigrees.  Both boys are actively using a "litter" box, and have been started on obedience, both knowing sit, down, come and started on a play retrieve.  Both have NO AVERSION to picking up metal, such as keys and alum. cans.

Babies are 6 Weeks old!

Well, the babies are 6 weeks of age, and what little dolls they are!








So far, here is what has been done:

Strongid worming, 2xs
Panacur Worming, 1 round
Coccidia Treatment(pre-emptive)
Started on Solid Foods(they are now eating dry kibble, only, no canned food at this time)

So, let me tell you about these babies....The two little girls are pistols, constantly causing a bit of mischief. But, yet, they are sweet at the same time! They enjoy cuddling, they love to chew on hair, of all things.

The boys....Well, they are going to be really ladies men, someday....they are extremely social, and they enjoy just laying in my lap, or next to me, while I sit on the deck and relax with them.

April 14, 2010.....Big Adventure Outdoors!!!!

Ok, So the pups had a big adventure today! They got to go outside and eat their breakfast, and spend some time in the great out of doors.

They weren't quite sure what to think.....The neighbors are doing some work on the building next to us....so socialization around weird noises is not going to be an issue....Lots of saws, and blowers, and vacuums and all kinds of weird sounds!








The wind was blowing pretty good, and it was a bit nippy out, so pups didn't stay too long....

Brought in the house, they are crashed out and wiped....

Oh, yes, and they were wormed with Strongid today!

Well, the pups are three weeks of age. They have had a big day.....Today, they got their first taste of "Food"(other than momma's milk, that is).

My recipe for 3 week old pups is simple:
Baby Cereal(oatmeal is my favorite)
Couple of tablespoons of baby formula(I use non-soy based, children's formula)
Chicken and Rice(Gerbers, small jar)


Mix it all together and boy, do they love it....At 4 weeks, that diet changes....but I will share more about that later!

Well, We Have Babies

So, it was dinner time, last night, and since Miss J, being the food hound that she is, didn't eat, I was pretty sure we would have babies in the AM.

About 6 AM, she started barking, I took her outside, knew that she was about to whelp, took her back in the house, and within 20 minutes she popped out the first precious Rottie pup.

Now, at first, she really wasn't sure what to do.....but, once I cleaned one off for her, she got the message, and after that, she took care to clean each one.

Around 10 AM or so, she had had 8 pups, and I thought she was finished...nope, before it was over, she would have 3 more.

However, as often happens, a few of the pups didn't survive. We lost three, 2 girls and one boy. But.....and, that is a big but.....She still has 8 pups.....
